Biography

Veronika Miecznikowski was born in 2000 in Basel, Switzerland. She took her first violin lessons with Anna Paraschiv in Turin when she was five years old. In 2007, she became a student of Anna Modesti at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, where she was admitted to the pre-college class in 2014 and soon assumed the role of concertmaster of the regional youth orchestra, Orchestra giovanile della Svizzera italiana. One year later, she began to take additional lessons with Marco Rizzi at the pre-college of Mannheim University of music and performing arts. Since 2019 she continues her studies there with Marco Rizzi, to gain a Bachelors degree. She was awarded prizes at several national and international youth music competitions, among others «Premio Crescendo» in Florence (first prize 2013) and the Swiss national youth music competition (first prizes in the final rounds in 2014 and 2016). She performed chamber music concerts in Cantone Ticino (Switzerland), Basel (Switzerland), Rho (Italy) and Cremona (Italy) in various formations, among which the Consonante string quartet. As a soloist, she presented her first individual recital at Castello Sforzesco in Milan (Italy) in 2015. In October 2016, she performed, in Kislovodsk (Russia), the world premiere of Suite for violin and orchestra by Fabio Arnaboldi, accompanied by the North Caucasus Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Piotr Nikiforoff. In June 2021 she played with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana at the Ticino DOC Festival, and in November 2021 she performed with the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester at the annual Mozart Gala concert in Mannheim, where she won the “Mozartpreis” given by the Mozartgesellschaft Kurpfalz.
In June 2022 she won the second Prize at the “Concours d’Interprétation Musicale de Lausanne”.
Veronika Miecznikowski plays a violin attributed to Michael Platner, kindly loaned to her by Melania Magnani.
