Biography

Veronika Miecznikowski was born in 2000 in Basel, Switzerland. She took her first violin lessons in Turin when she was five years old. In 2007, she became a student of Anna Modesti at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, where she was admitted to the pre-college class in 2014 and soon assumed the role of concertmaster of the regional youth orchestra, Orchestra giovanile della Svizzera italiana. One year later, she began to take additional lessons with Marco Rizzi at the pre-college of Mannheim University of music and performing arts, where she then gained a Bachelors degree in 2024.

Coming from a musical family, Veronika has made music with her father and her sister since early childhood, which was the beginning of her love for chamber music. She performs in a variety of chamber ensembles in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Poland, and is regularly invited to festivals such as “KLANGRAUM” festival in Cologne, the “Seuzacher Konzertreihe” and the “Frisch gestrichen! Basel” concert series.

Veronika was awarded first prizes at several national and international youth music competitions, among others «Premio Crescendo» in Florence  and the Swiss national youth music competition. Most recently she won the “Mozart Preis” given to her by the Mozart Gesellschaft Kurpfalz and the  second Prize at the “Concours d’Interprétation Musicale de Lausanne”.

As a soloist, she presented her first individual recital at Castello Sforzesco in Milan (Italy) in 2015.  She shortly after made her orchestral debut in Kislovodsk (Russia), where she performed with the North Caucasus Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since then she has played with the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana at the Ticino DOC Festival, with the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester and with kammerphilharmonie Mannheim.

Since her studies in Mannheim, Veronika has gotten to know the Jazz and Popular music scene and has participated in several crossover projects, with Composer and Guitarist Florin  Küppers, the band PRISMA and others.

Over the years, she has opportunities to learn from professors such as Shlomo Mintz, Nora Chastain, Andreas Janke, Ulrich Koella and Kolja Blacher.

Since april 2024 Veronika has begun her master studies with Prof. Kolja Blacher at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin.
